1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Roster, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old to use Roster. If you do not agree to these terms or are under 18, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

Roster is an app for keeping track of your dating life — the people you're seeing, where things stand with them, and the dates you go on — and for sharing that with friends you choose through a private feed.

3. User Accounts

To use Roster, you must create an account using Sign in with Apple or email verification. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit (roster entries, date logs, notes, photos, posts, and comments). By using our service:

• You grant us a license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate the app
• You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any laws or third-party rights
• We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms

Roster content often describes other people, such as the people you date. You are responsible for what you share about others — keep it respectful, and do not post content that harasses, defames, or exposes private information about another person.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Post objectionable content as described in Section 6 below
• Submit content that is harmful, abusive, or violates others' rights
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated systems to access the service without permission

6. Objectionable Content and Zero Tolerance

We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Objectionable content includes, but is not limited to:

• Nudity or sexually explicit material
• Hate speech or discrimination of any kind
• Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation of any person, whether or not they use Roster
• Violence or the glorification of violence
• Content that exposes another person's private information without their consent
• Any content involving minors
• Spam, scams, or deceptive content
• Content that promotes illegal activity

7. Content Moderation and Enforcement

Roster provides in-app tools to keep the community safe:

• Reporting: You can flag any post, comment, or user you find objectionable directly in the app.
• Blocking: You can block any user. Blocking immediately removes their content from your feed, and notifies us so we can review their behavior.
• Filtering: Content from users you have blocked, and content we have removed for violating these terms, is filtered out of the app.

We review every report and act on objectionable content within 24 hours by removing the content and ejecting the user who provided it. Users who violate these terms will have their content removed and their accounts suspended or permanently banned.

8. Intellectual Property

All features and functionality of Roster (excluding your content) are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our app without permission.

9. Privacy

Your use of Roster is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and share your information.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR AVAILABILITY OF THE SERVICE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY LOSS OF DATA.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, including immediately and without notice for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. You may also delete your account at any time from the app settings.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
